In week 4 we learned
about combining pictures in our teaching expirience. Something I encourage and
personally enjoy doing. I think it is a good learning experience and makes the
process more fun and easy.
I learned about a great
tool (Snaggit) that will definitely help me in the future, and examples of pictures
and the use of pictures, such as the amazing website Photofunia.
We can use such
activities with creating pictures with our students. We can have more creative
lessons, ask them to take pictures of objects and translate them into English,
have them take pictures of English words and make a sentence out of them and so
on. The tools are there, we just need to use them.
Hi Dana,
השבמחקI enjoyed reading your post.
I strongly agree with you that teaching with visual aids is fun for both the teacher and the pupils.
I think that today teachers stick to the book and don't look for different kinds of teaching which is a shame especially when we now
know that the tools for a creative lesson are just one click away. wish we will change it : )
Thank you,
Liron
Hi Dana,
השבמחקI also think that teaching with pictures is a good idea and a wonderful learning experience for the pupils.
It is surly a creative way to learn and to teach.
Hi Dana,
השבמחקThank you for letting us know PHOTOFUNIA.
Its unbelievable what great and various tools exist these days that make our work so much fun and interesting for our students as well as for us teachers!

Dana,
השבמחקThank you. I like your idea about forming sentences from pictures. I think it can also show them how we sometimes need to add helping verbs that do not have a meaning of their own (and therefore cannot be represented by a picture), but are just there to help us form a grammatically correct sentence.
